About Us

Approximately 99.3% of Officers within the Federated ranks throughout the country are subscribing members to the Police Federation, this is far more than other Staff Associations and Trade Unions. To date within Humberside we have 99.2% of our Federated ranks subscribing.

The amount of Police Federation representatives in your Division or Specialist area is governed by legislation and is dependent on the number of members within it and not by the size of the Division.

To fulfil its statutory responsibility the Federation considers a wide range of subjects relevant to the police service, formulates policies and responds to Government and other consultation papers in line with the views of its members. It negotiates the terms and conditions of service for its members, represents them on numerous boards and committees and provides a wide range of legal and welfare services.

Representatives within your Division/area are actively encouraged to liaise with the Divisional Management teams to consult on and have influence on decisions which affect the welfare of the members there whilst the Joint Branch Board Chair and Secretary act on your behalf on a Force basis and nationally through liaison with the Joint Central Committee at Leatherhead.

Details of the full time officials and your representatives are attached to the links.

The Police Federation is a rankless organisation so if  you have a problem relating to a specific subject you can contact any officer of any rank, it is your choice, our representatives all receive the same initial training and are there to represent you.

The Federation exists to assist you so please make sure that whenever you need advice or assistance you contact your local representative.

Please email your representative however if it is urgent and you cannot get hold of them please contact the Police Federation Office at Kirkella and the staff there will assist you by either giving you sufficient advice to assist with your immediate needs or by contacting the representative you require.
